Overview

A committee was established to create a shared platform for agents, markets and key suppliers of technology.

This was done in order to coordinate, share and pro-actively contribute to management of information and technology related issues on markets.

Information technology on markets plays a crucial role in the ability of both market management and agents to perform their trading mandates.

A renewed focus on this very important element of daily trade will contribute greatly towards the reduction of risk, improved transparency and information integrity.

To create a sustainable and efficient technology environment for Fresh
Produce Markets.

Mission

Support and advise Fresh Produce Markets on the effective use, implementation and understanding of information and related technologies.

Advising IMASA and SAUFM as required in order for these organisations to fulfil their respective mandates.

Reduce risk through the establishment and monitoring of a strategic risk matrix. 


Increase technology governance through through the sharing of best practices and standards


Ensure information integrity.


Improve communication between markets, their service providers, agents and staff
